Bank of Montreal Festival
EDMSL U8-U12 Coaches,
Excitement is building for the upcoming Summer Festival on July 8 & 9 presented by Bank of Montreal. We have 145 teams participating and there will be close to 3,000 famies involved on this special weekend of soccer.
The schedule has just been updated and is available on the EMDSL website and it is also attached. In the attachment your team can be found on either the tab called Saturday or Sunday at the bottom. Game One, Game Two and Skills Competition times are all for the HOME team listed. Since these games count as regular season games some teams are listed twice as the HOME team and if so the first instance has your complete list of times. Some teams are listed as an AWAY team for both games which is why these teams have been added to the bottom of each division to show each team's two scheduled games plus your schedule for the Skills Competition.
With the size of the tournament we were not able to get all of the games at North London so there are some teams that play one or two games at either the BMO Centre or Western University. We have done our best to schedule the games to leave enough time for travel and for teams to participate in the Skills Competition.
The Skills Competition was a big hit during the Indoor Soccer Festival this past spring and we have included it in this festival. All players from your team get to compete in the Skills Competition with winners from your team facing off against the winners from other teams in your division in the All Star Skills Competition. Prizes will be awarded to the All Star Competition Champions. The Skills or All Star Competitions are fun and will only take approximately 15 minutes to complete. The Skills Competitions are all held at the same location at North London.
- Please ensure your team knows the times of your two games plus the Skills & All Star Competition
- The HOME team pays the referee for each game and supplies game balls
- Stop by the tournament headquarters when you arrive at North London to pick up the takeaway items for your team.
The Ontario Soccer Association will have a booth at the event on the Sunday. Sonia Curvelo, the Regional Manager of Player Development, will be available from 9am-11am & 1pm-3pm. If you have any questions or concerns about grass roots soccer in London please stop by the booth.
We would like to thank the Bank of Monteal who has stepped up as a Presenting Sponsor for the event and is providing takeaway items for all players and prizes for the All Star Competition winners.
We are looking forward to seeing you in a couple weeks and please let me know if you have any questions.
